Ok!
The main purpose is that it provides extra battery life
But it's also great for balancing out larger lenses
A lot of photographers prefer to make the camera heavier with a grip in order to make the lens more stable
It also provides another shutter button for vertical shooting
That is what I was wondering...stabilization..
