Hello...Looking for something versatile yet has features of a prosumer camera. Need to pack and take to Africa. Basically looking for a camcorder that will handle my needs in the field but isn't going to take up a ton of space.

Are you looking for a camcorder? or a camera for still shots?
I am taken care of in the way of DSLR...would like to be able to pull stills from the camcorder if needed.

I'm not sure if you can pull a still shot from this while recording though - let me check on that
