Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at the Canon 5D Mark III?
Hello~
Courtney B
Did you have some questions about this camera today?
I'm wondering what open box means
does that mean it's been shipped to someone
then returned?
or...
Courtney B
Sometimes yes.
Ah...
Courtney B
Other times, it was used as a demo in the store
And some just have some damage to the box
They all include the full 1 year warranty from Canon USA
And if you're unhappy for any reason, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund
Aha
If it was opened, how do you know... what people have done to it...?
or not...?
Courtney B
Adorama looks at them first. And also determines if they're able to be open box based on the reason for return
gotcha
I have 6d currently
it has only one cross type focus point which is the center point
all the outer focus points are useless for me
does 5d mark iii have the same issue?
Courtney B
Nope :-)
There are TONS of cross types
I actually shoot with this camera myself and had to turn some of the focus points off since there are almost too many
oh
well I did notice that it's got 41 cross types
Courtney B
Yep! :-)
but I've read articles where people still say that outer points don't focus as well as the center one :-(
Courtney B
I haven't found that to be the case at all
I toggle focus points when I shoot and use the outside points quite often. I haven't noticed any difference between those and the centralized ones
well that's great to hear!
did you have to afma your lenses?
Courtney B
I really love the camera! I had to calibrate one of my lenses
But the others have been spot on
I see
Courtney B
But that sort of depends on the specific camera/lenses that you have
I have 3 L lenses and I don't wanna have to deal with AFMA at all... which is why I'm considering switching to sony A7ii or something...
what do you think...?
Courtney B
I see!
I'm unable to switch to Sony since they don't quite have the lenses that I need yet...in the price I'm willing to pay
But I have used the system and it's really great!
Sigh...
how did you calibrate one of your lenses by the way?
Courtney B
I just use a simple setup with my tripod and a ruler
ah gotcha
Courtney B
There are much more accurate solutions available, but this gets me close enough for my shooting
ok I shall buy the 5d mark iii soon
Courtney B
Ok! I have a feeling that you'll love it!
thank you very much for all your help!
you've been awesomeeeeee
Courtney B
You're welcome!
unless you know some great lend
calibrating tool
or whatever it is
Courtney B
There is one that I know of
Let me bring it up
This is the only one that I'm personally familiar with
I have a friend who uses it and really likes it
ooh not too expensive
ok i'll purchase this as well along with 5d mark iii soon
thank you very much :-)
Courtney B
Ok! You're welcome!
