Hello! my name is Eric how can I help?
do you have a question for me?
Good morning. I am a Nikon user but am thinking of the Canon EOS C 100 II - is there a way to use Nikon lens and is it really good?
Eric T.
You might be able to grab an adapter
Which camera do you have?
Nikon SLRs - 600 and 800
Eric T.
Ok looking into it
one moment
sorry for the wait here, just checking everything out
No rush
The prime issue is using a 2.8 lens all the way through all lens wide to tele
Eric T.
well your best bet is a lens adapter, you can find one here that adapts NIkon F to Eos
I am unfamiliar with Canon and note that the models talk about EF and PL lens mounts, etc. Can you enlighten?
Eric T.
Sure. Ef / EOS is just a mount type. like nikon f/AF
do you know what mounts your lenses are on?
Mine are all full frame Nikons, no FX
Eric T.
ok
All Af
Eric T.
Got it
In that case the kipon lens mount adapter should work
for most canon lenses
Do you know if there will be limitations on the Nikon features
Eric T.
You should get proper clearance, but I Dont know whether autofocus and things will work. depends on the lens. Maybe I can find out though? which lenses do you have?
The key ones are 14-24, 24-70 & 70-200 all 2.8. Also what is the difference between the "Dual Pixel upgrade" and the basic C100?
Eric T.
Are you talking about a lens feature? Im not sure where you are reading about the dual pixel upgrade
You ads how EOS C100 EF mount and EOS C100 with Dual Pixel CMOS AF Feature Upgrade
Eric T.
I see now
Dual pixel is an autofocusing technology
Basically means more accurate autofocus
So that is the body I would consider and the issue is how the Nikon lens perform
Eric T.
I cant find much specific information about lens compatibility for the kipon lens, if you wanted to give it a try there is a 30-day return period though
Ok - let me go through and decide. Thanks for your help!
Eric T.
sure! anything else I can do?
Yes, now that I think about it. If I decide not to, I am thinking of a Panasonic. I see where it's coming out with two new cameras this fall. I looked at the DVX 200, But I might consider a lesser camera to use as a back up and revisit in the fall. Do you have a suggestion for a starter panasonic
Eric T.
A starter panasonic? Let me take a look
normally I reccomend canon or nikon
Nikon doesn't make pure videos. I don't want to use my SLR as a video, though I have done so in the past. I looking for a pure camcorder and I understand Panasonic has great camcorders.
Eric T.
ah Isee
Panasonic would be a good brand for that
That's why I am wondering where to look for a starter if I want to use it as a back up to, say, one of the new Panasonics that come out this fall
Eric T.
$697.99 is the actual price for this
I think that would be a great starter camcorder
Thanks - I will look at the Cannon and this. Again thanks
Eric T.
ok. thanks for chatting!
Bye
