Is the Nikon D7100 dSLR body a good upgrade to the older D80 model?

Did you have some questions about this camera today?
yes I have a D80 now and am looking ti buy a newer camera I shoot mostly auto racing
Courtney B
Sounds great!
but I dont have a ton of knowledge.
Courtney B
Ok! No problem!
What's your budget for the upgrade?
Im looking for a reasonably priced camera and a lense w a long range. I have used the 70-300 vr lense on the d80
Courtney B
Ok!
That's a great lens! You would still be able to use it on any upgraded camera as well
I paid about $1100 for mt d80 i think w one lense
I dont have the lense anymore so Im unssure If I want to stay w/nikon or move to canon
Courtney B
At this price point, you'll get a better quality camera from Nikon compared to Canon
ok, I think i prefer nikon anyway
Courtney B
Ok! :-)
The D7200 would be a great upgrade
It's a fantastic choice for fast shooting
We have it for $1046 new
Or $849.95 refurbished
and then is that 70-300 vr lense the best choice for shooting at the racetrack?
Courtney B
Absolutely!
It's a great lens!
ok thank you that is the lense I was using and it was great on the d80.
Courtney B
It will be even better on the faster D7200
The D7200 also has excellent image quality at higher ISO's
