Anne A.
Hi! Welcome to Adorama! How are you today? My name is Anne. Do you have questions about a camera? Or a lens? How can I help?
does the p9000 have a lens cap? Is there a lens filter to enhance shooting through glass
Anne A.
there is a lens cap
it uses 67mm filters
if I purchase this camera, can you also provide standard lens filters
Anne A.
sure!
is there a certain kind of filter you're looking for?
just the standard one that protects the lens and helps shoot objects through glass/windows
Anne A.
a UV filter is used a lot of times to protect the lens
but for shooting through windows, a polarizing filter is best
that will reduce glare but it's not great for everything. it's kind of like wearing sunglasses
this kit includes a UV, polarizing, and neutral density filter
If I used just one filter all of the time...primarily to protect the lens, which would you recommend
Anne A.
the UV filter
I am also looking at the comparable Canon camera. While it is less expensive, I'm told the image stabilizer feature in the Nikon is vastly superior...True?
Anne A.
that is true
this also has more zoom
to reduce blurring is the subject moves...animals, birds, wildlife in general, will a monopod further reduce chances of blurred subject and if so is there one available on the nikon
Anne A.
a monopod will help with that
let me get you some options
looks good but I was thinking a small hand held device
Anne A.
ok
ok, I'm trying to avoid as much set up to shoot as possible....visiting Alaska soon and want a good point and shoot camera with a focus on non-blurry pics/movies..
oh, as you may guess, I am a novice so all suggestions are appreciated
Anne A.
the manfrotto compact is a good option for a monopod
is that your recommendation
Anne A.
that is the one I'd go with.
ok, does the camera have a comfortable neck carry when just carrying the camera around your neck...is that in the bundle
Anne A.
yes. it does include a neck strap
ok, is there a more comfortable one
Anne A.
you can use any camera strap.
I like a sling strap myself, but that attaches where a monopod attaches
this is a very comfortable strap
to use a strap like that, you'd have to use a botom plate so you can keep the strap attached and stil have a socket open for the monopod
ok, finally, does the camera take standard batteries....recharging is slow and often troublesome
Anne A.
this takes a rechargeable battery
would you recommend 2 batteries? does a battery charger come w/bundle
Anne A.
it does include a battery charger
I would recommend keeping a 2nd battery too
Ok, thanks...Can you itemize and price the items: Camera & bundle, monopod, uv lens cap, extra battery...anything I forgot
Anne A.
sure. just a minute
If you go with this bundle, it includes an extra battery -
if you go with that bundle is 619.34
the monopod is 34.88
the filter kit is 35.95
how about the uv filter and lens cap
sorry to drag this on but if I use one filter and leave it on all the time, it would be the UV...cost? Also, I see a lens cap comes with the bundle
Anne A.
if you want one filter to leave on, use the uv.
here is a single uv filter for 13.47
looks like the filter kit you suggested is a better deal..agree?
Anne A.
yes it is
the bundle indicated camera bag, need the camera case is it included also
Anne A.
that includes a lowepro camera bag
help is that the case that I put the camera in or is it a large bag that holds lots of camera stuff
Anne A.
It's a bag to put the camera in but it's not very large
this is the bag that is included
ok, thanks
oh, looks like the bundle includes 2 btteries and charger...correct?
Anne A.
altogether it does have 2 batteries and one charger
ok
Anne A.
here is a smaller bag for the camera if you want something a little more more compact
what is standard warranty on camera
Anne A.
1 year from Nikon USA
you can buy an extended warranty too if you want longer coverage
do I need longer warranty
Anne A.
it will be covered for 1 year by Nikon
you can buy a policy with drops and spills coverage if that is a concern. Accidental damage isn't covered by NIikon
thanks
Anne A.
you're welcome!
I think I have what I need now. Any parting advice
Anne A.
I think we covered everything!
that kit includes a memory card so you won't need a separate one
and the extra battery is in there too so you're all set!
thanks, have a great day
Anne A.
thanks! you too!
have a good trip!
