Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at cameras? Did you have questions about any in particular?
Or need some help choosing one?
Im actually interested in remote shutter triggers and nd filters. how much do they cost?
Courtney B
Which camera and lens do you have?
Canon t5i and sigma 50mm
Courtney B
Ok! The Sigma ART? Or the older version?
i guess its probably the older one
Courtney B
Let me check the filter size on that lens
I'm still checking. It'll take a minute since the lens isn't in our system anymore
Was it the f/1.4 lens? or f/2.8?
its the 1.4
i think its 77mm
Courtney B
Ok, yes that's correct!
I just wanted to double check :-)
This would be an excellent remote option!
okay! thanks
can you tell me how this remote compares to ones that cost $20?
Courtney B
Sure! That remote is also an intervalometer, which means that you can program it to take a series of photos
You can determine how many photos it takes and also the length of time between photos
If you just want a basic remote to take one shot, the Canon RC-6 is a great option as well!
ah i see! I think for my not so professional level of expertise I don't need something quite so intense
Courtney B
Ok! :-)
That sounds reasonable!
i suppose you may have guessed but I am doing some long exposures, is there anything else I'll need?
besides a tripod
Courtney B
Those are the most important things: tripod, remote and ND filter for long exposures
I can't think of anything else :-)
I am curious about one other thing
Courtney B
Ok! Sure!
I've been trying to reproduce photo effects that i observe in one of my favorite photographers who shoots on a leica camera. what do I need to focus on to achieve this look on a canon dslr?
Courtney B
What types of effects does he have?
Or she?
super high contrast, super black blacks highly saturated colors
Courtney B
Ok. That sounds like they're editing their photos on the computer
atmospheric stuff
Courtney B
Yes, it sounds like they're using Photoshop
perhaps
Courtney B
They most likely are. Most photographers do
thats a shame haha
thanks for your help!
Courtney B
You're welcome :-)
