Eric T.
hello! my name is Eric how can I help?
do you have a video question for me?
I am looking for video equipment that can be used for music instruction and be able to use it for recording athletic events out in the field, if that makes sense.
Eric T.
Ok, so you want to record athletic events and music events?
I am doing instruction videos for teaching music, and I video players and games for people.
I am looking for equipment that can be used for both.
Eric T.
alright, let me see what we have.
do you have a price range also?
not really
Eric T.
I might recommend a camera and also a mic attachment as well
also I will need lighting and I suppose broadcast and editing equipment down the road.
what camera would you recommend and what is the price?
Eric T.
I would reccomend this kit
comes with a camera, and also some mic and other attatchemnts you will need.
you can get lighting seperately
priced at $699.99 which is pretty reasonable
nice price, I think I will need two cameras, i will look at the link after we are done, are they easy to use, I am a novas at this.
Eric T.
I would reccomend starting with one
Alot of pro's dont use more than one camera
cool, I need to shoot a two screen for the music teaching for guitar, the hand on the neck and the strumming hand.
Eric T.
Would recording twice be an option?
That is the most common solution
But you will need to have good video editing software
I have thought about that but to link the two hands might be hard.
yes I will
Eric T.
you could go with a second camera without the kit included
ok.
are they easy to use?
Eric T.
Canon EOS Rebel's? yes I think so
I have a ti4 myself
*t4i
they have auto-focus and exposure features if you dont want to mess with anything
nice, how about editing equipment?
Eric T.
All you need is some software
whatever you are familiar with
I use Sony Vegas Pro
Fairly straightforward, there's always a learning curve with these things
that is a good price also.
I thought I would be spending a lot more on this stuff.
Eric T.
you definitely could if you wanted to, but this is a great starting point in my opinion
all I want is really good quality at a good price.
Eric T.
Make sure you try out the free trial before buying the editing software
ok, thanks, I am thinking about doing a pod cast in the future, do you know anything about that?
Eric T.
I should be able to help yeah. do you need a mic?
yes, everything, even lighting for the instruction videos.
Eric T.
ah yes I almost forgot about the lighting
This softbox kit is what I recommend firstly
for lighting
nice
Eric T.
And if you want a mic that you can use for video and podcasting the zoom series is really good
but since you are already getting a shotgun mic in the other bundle you might just want to go with a yeti
which would be better for that I think and also cheaper
ok, cool.
Eric T.
So to summarize, the Camera kit, the Softbox kit and a Yeti. and you should be basically covered
cool, thanks.
Eric T.
You might need a tripod if you dont already have one
yes i will.
Eric T.
this should do the trick
i have a sunpak ultra 600pg tripod now
Eric T.
that should be fine
thank you very muck
you are great, thanks a lot Eric.
