Hi, welcome to Adorama! My name is Cory. Do you have camera questions? Or how about questions on a lens? How can I help you today?
I am looking at upgrading from my current camera a D7000
Cory R.
Ok sure
Looking at the d7200 and the D500
Cory R.
Both great cameras. The D500 is supposed to be amazing and its speed is outraeous
Outrageous
Just celebrated my 60th birthday and my wife has bought us an Alaskan Cruise ,this is one of the reasons I am looking at upgrading
Cory R.
Happy belated Birthday and wow, lucky.
You can't really go wrong either way, they both would be a very good upgrade from your D7000. The D7200 is going to be more like the functions of your D7000, the D500 is more like a full frame, it's less buttons, more functions.
I really like the D500 but I am having difficulty looking at the specs and justifying the additional $1000
Cory R.
The frame rate, increase, low light performance, processor has been improved on it, and it's a work horse for sure. It's not for everyone, but if you've ever seen the D300, it's the big brother to it, with all the bells and whistles of teh D7200 included
I have been looking for a long time at going full frame but if I do that I need to upgrade all of my glass as well
Cory R.
Yes, it's easier to work on the glass first, and then the body. Honestly
So if I am shooting scenery,Glaciers and Wildlife ?
Cory R.
Wide angle are best for that. Wide angle zooms will give you the most versatility.
Now budget can make a whole difference on what you get, but faster the better, and if you don't want to get nikon, you can go for Tamron/Sigma and get just as good
I have both for glass
have been shooting my daughter playing volleyball
Cory R.
Ok yeah.
some Nikon and some Tamron glass
Cory R.
Yes, wide angle zooms are best for wildlife, landscapes and scenery
The tamron seems to have faster lenses that are more affordable, so now I am looking at upgrading the camera body
Cory R.
This is tamron's wide angle zoom they've got
For full frame
I was just about to go D7200 but now I am on the fence again with the D500
Cory R.
I understand that
The reviews I have been reading are putting the D500 ahead of the D750
Cory R.
Yes, it's pretty awesome
See that what I am hearing a lot ,just have to pull the trigger and make up my mind Thank You
Cory R.
You're welcome.
