Hi! I'm Jackie! How are you? I would love to answer any lens/camera questions you have.
Are you shopping for a camera today? How may I help?
Hi Jackie, I am looking purchasing a Nikon D3300 for friend to start shooting a documentary. What lens will you recommend and what sound capture adapters/attachments will you recommend?
Jackie L.
If you are doing close up, then the 18-55 will be fine, but if you need to shoot far away or outdoors, then the 55-200 would be a good lens. The two lens bundle saves money on both lenses and also has the card and remote to get you started.
It has a built in microphone
but no external jack
so there is no way to attach an external mic?
Jackie L.
no there is no way
it doesn't have an external mic jack
the next model up
the d5300 or d5500 have it
How much is a refurbished D5300 or D5500 with a 18 to 140 lens?
Jackie L.
we only hav eit with an 18-55mm lens
and sound/mic adapter?
Jackie L.
see the link above for the price on a refurb with 18-55mm lens
you don't need an adapter for the mic
just a mic
what mic will you recommend?
Jackie L.
hold on a sec and let me get it for you
the Rode microphone is the most popular for better sound quality
less expensive versions in this link
Does that help?
Thanks for all your help!
