Hello, welcome to Adorama how are you today? My name is Jeff, how can I assist you?
I am looking for a camera to take to europe that is lightweight. my niece recently purchased a sony a5100 and i am interested in finding one. they seem to be on backorder everywhere and i leave in 2 weeks
Jeff H.
The Sony Alpha a 6000 would be a good one
I just dropped a link into the chat window so you can see it
They are roughly the same cost and is currently in stock and available to ship today
It is actually the newer version
so it has the same features?
My previous camera is a sony is a dsc h50

Checking side-by-side to see what is changed. If anything has.
I am hoping to get quicker focus and a lighter weight camera. It looks like this has 24 pixels (or about). Is that what gives more clarity?
Jeff H.
Yes more megapixels help
They really appear to be really close to the same specs.
I'm not finding anything glaringly different
same lightweight?
Jeff H.
Actually, the 6000 is 2 ounces heavier
But they are really close to the same size.
The 6000 is 4.7 x 2.6 where the 5100 was 4.4 a 2.5. But it does appear the 6000 is thinner by an eighth of an inch
ok, does this model come with what I need to use it? meaning I will not need to purchase additional items like charger
Jeff H.
Yes it comes with everything you need. If you scroll down the page on the right-hand side you will see a section called "what's in the box" it shows everything that comes with it
and the lens is 16-50mm
Jeff H.
Yes, but you can also bundle it with different lenses by selecting the options in the "more product options" lens included section
ok, I will check the options out. Thank you
Jeff H.
You're very welcome, this would be the camera. I would purchase. Personally, since I cannot find the 5100 in stock anywhere. Was there anything else I can assist you with?
No, thank you!
Jeff H.
Okay, thanks for stopping by and have a great evening! Remember if you have any other additional questions, please do not hesitate to come back okay?
ok, thanks
Jeff H.
You're very welcome
