Hello! my name is Eric how can I help?
do you have a question about the 6d?
i recently had my camera stolen with the canon 50mm compact macro lens.
in looking for another lens, they seem to be out of stock
are they still produced?
Eric T.
Let me check on taht
*that
do you mean a lens like this one?
kinda mine was a f/2.5 ef compact macro
Eric T.
we have some 60mm that are compact macro
but I think you are right about 50mm being out of production
i'm not familiar enough with lens. can you tell me the difference between the 50 and 60 mm
Eric T.
The longer the focal length, the further away you will be at a given size crop
basically a 50 and 60 mm are very similar in focal length
It is good for flowers (tulip size) but suffers if you are interested in ant portraits
i use the camera to capture text on documents. it can be rather small at times. what do you reccomend to replace the 50mm
Eric T.
anything smaller
a 20mm would be good
how does that look?
interestring
i'm going to have to do more research, you've been very helpful.
Eric T.
ok. Anything else I can help with?
Canon EOS 6D DSLR Camera w/Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens Kit "OPEN BOX"
What does f/2.5 ef mean? and how is that different than the previous
Eric T.
Firstly ef is just the camera mount
all ef lenses are compatible with ef mounts
would my eos 6d dslr body fit an IS mount?
duh sorry just saw the product i posted is eos 6d body
Eric T.
yes
as for the f number
that is the apeture size
f-stops are a way of describing the size of the aperture, or how open or closed the aperture is. A smaller f-stop means a larger aperture, while a larger f-stop means a smaller aperture.
It can be confusing
larger apeture means more light into the lens
inverse relationship, i'm going from 2.5 to 4L, so smaller apeture means less light
does that dimish quality of photo
Eric T.
Not necessarily
sometimes a smaller apeture is better for the situation
almost all modern lenses can provide at least f/16 as the minimum aperture, which is typically more than enough for everyday photography needs.
lastly what is "open box"?
Eric T.
open box just means the item was returend
*returned
within the 30-day period adorama offers
thank you bye
