Is the Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 lens recommended with the Nikon D750 DSLR?

Hi, welcome to Adorama! My name is Cory. Do you have camera questions? Or how about questions on a lens? How can I help you today?
HI MY NAME DAN, I AM LOOKING TO BUY A D 750 BODY AND THE LENS i WAS LOOKING IS Nikon 228-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S Nikkor VR Lens.
Cory R.
Hi Dan. Sure.
They don't bundle that lens with the camera though.
I basically need it for potraits, family occasions or a football game
Cory R.
It's not the best portrait lens but it is a good all around lens
but if i go with the bundle then its not good for my game shoot
Cory R.
No it doesn't have the best reach in the 24-120mm lens.
which one would you suggest
Cory R.
From personal use of the 28-300mm lens, it's really not the best lens. It's got major distortion on the end of the lens.
then what do u suggest now you know for what i need
Cory R.
I'm checking to see other options
Tamron's 28-300mm is a better version of the lens
It's not had the distortion issues
So you still get the distance and such without the problems
ok,thx...any other nikon camera or lens would you suggest.
Cory R.
The camera is the best option and Nikon lens, the other lens options there aren't any covering the whole range, the 80-400mm lens would be the next step up
thats way too high. I am not a pro
Cory R.
I thought so.
That's why I suggested the Tamron
ok thx....

You're welcome. I think you'd like it, and it would still do well
