Shopper conversation with Anne A. on August 05, 2016

Recently a co-worker dropped our camera lens at work so we want to replace and upgrade... I was curious if the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S ED Nikkor Lens
Anne A.
Hi! Welcome to Adorama! How are you today? My name is Anne. Do you have questions about a camera? Or a lens? How can I help?
HI Phil!
would be a good choice for product photography
Anne A.
what camera do you have?
I would prefer a 50mm but our shooting space is limited and at times have large items to shoot so would be difficult to fit the objects in the frame with a 50mm
a Nikon D5100
Anne A.
the 35mm will work well for you
It's an older model I've been slowly trying to upgrade their camera equipment since starting here
Anne A.
there is a DX version of this lens that is less expensive and it works very well too
price is not an issue... I have the green light from management to purchase any lens.
Anne A.
Oh!!
I need management like that :-)
in your opinion which of those 2 are better or is it minimal
lol
Anne A.
it's minimal.
the main difference is DX format vs FX format
if you upgrade to an FX camera in the future you'll still be able to use the FX lens
well I told them we would probably spend in the 4 to 5 range... and they we ok wit hthat
that
Anne A.
I'd go for this one then. :-)
I have been trying to get them to upgrade our camera body... that will be next on the list
Anne A.
you'll already have a great lens for it!
ok sounds good then, thank you for your help.
Anne A.
you're welcome!
will you be ordering today?
I will print this out and bring it to them now to get the sign off on it and will most likely order today... I have several products we need to shoot for packaging that need to go out ASAP so the sooner the better.
Anne A.
great!
I know it's quick, but if you get your order in by 1pm EST today (10 minutes) it should go out today
we can try for that... what are store hours today I may be able to send someone in to pick up as well?
Anne A.
the store is open until 5pm today
ok not a problem then I can have someone pick up in store if it is in stock
Anne A.
sounds good!
you can always order online and pick up in store too :-)
