Is the Sony 10-18mm f/4 a good lens for photos of the moon?

Hi there! I see you were looking at some Sony lens options?
Can I help you find the perfect one for your needs?
yes, would this lens be good for landscape, like night scenes with the moon and hotels in the background
Jess H.
This wide angle really is a great one for night shots,
as long as you're working on a tripod the f/4 won't be limiting
Which Sony body do you shoot?
a6000
Jess H.
Nice! That will be a great combo for you
ok thanks i have the 16-70 one but it did not do so well for the shots the other night
Jess H.
Ah, what problems were you seeing with that one?
blurry
the moon looked ok but
i was on the river looking towards the ocean and the hotels on the beach
Jess H.
Were you focusing on the moon?
And do you remember what aperture you were using?
trying to get the whole shot and i might have been focusing on the moon too much
Jess H.
Okay, the problem using a wider aperture is that it might throw your closer range subjects out of focus
were you stable on a tripod?
no didn
didnt have it with me
Jess H.
Okay, definitely you'll want to do that!
was just a quick stop and had camera
Jess H.
Or at least stabilize the camera on a solid surface
Ah, I hear you :-)
the moon just looked great
ok thanks. I will look more into this lens and will try some pics again
Jess H.
You are most welcome
