I have a D 5500. I take a lot of macro photos as well as portraits. What do you suggest. I do not want a "G" lens.

if you don't want a G lens, this is a great option!
the tokina 100mm is a great macro lens too.
it has an aperture ring like the D lenses

That is a 2.8 what about a f2. Is that good for macro as well as portrait
