Hi! Welcome to Adorama! How are you today? My name is Anne. How can I help you?
Hi! Are you shopping for a camera today?
hello. outside of the l nens series what are some equally exceptional lenses from erd party makers like tamron and sigma that I should look at for the 5d mark 3?
Anne A.
what will you be photographing?
the 24-70 and 70-200 are very good lenses from Tamron and Sigma to
anything in the prime lens range?
Anne A.
is there a certain focal length you're looking at?
the Sigma Art lenses are very good quality
50 and 85 for portraits
Anne A.
ok
Sigma does have an 85mm lens, but not in the ART line
in your experience does the L line greatly enhance the image quality of the 5d or are the differences negligible for the most part. I know they recommend and charge a lot but I am not sure if there is a real divide in the optics.
Anne A.
I shoot NIkon myself, but I use a Sigma 24-70 as my main lens
It is very comparable in quality to the brand lens
ok, quick question since you shoot Nikon. have you ever compared image quality of the d750 and the 5d mark iii? I know, feature wise, the Nikon best the canon, but I care about the images more.
Anne A.
I haven't but I do use the D750!
ok. thanks.
Anne A.
you're welcome!
If you go by the tests, the Nikon tends to rate higher in overall image quality between the two
here is the thing. I rented the d750 for a week. but I shot with the 5d mark ii for a year. I have to go back and look at the files side by side tonight to see if there was something exceptional about the Nikon. not saying that its not but now that I am actually going to move on a camera I will consider the 5d ii raw files and the d750's in a strict comparison later tonight.
Anne A.
the D750 should show much less noise in that the mark 2
depending on the lighting. I do studio work. with proper lighting you can make a polaroid look fantastic. lol. but yes, the mark ii will not compete evenly but I am probably going to go with the mark ii. any news on the 5d mark iv you may have heard about? I know Nikon is your thing so I will understand if you have no clue.
Anne A.
I haven't heard anything on the Mark iv yet, but for studio, I"d look at the D810 from Nikon too
