What does open box mean? And would this lens be a really good upgrade for my T3i kit lens (18-55 f/3.5)?

Open box means it could be a return, floor model, demo, training or something happened to the box. And yes it's a great upgrade as it's a better in more low lighting situations lens than the kit lens.

Why is it $30 more than one that doesn't say open box but is same lens
