Hi! I'm Dan. How are you? Did you have a question on Canon cameras?
Hi I am Clay, Doing well how are you? I am looking for a DSLR which I can use to film movies for my production studio. Current project I am working, they are using a T6i. The T51 has been recommended. I have a Zoom Q8 for small setting music videos but want to expand our capabilities.
Daniel H.
nice.. so you have existing canon lenses that you can borrow from to put on your camera?
No, looking for body and 35mm cinema lens.
Daniel H.
Adorama has a open box kit w/ Rode mic and basic zoom lens available for a great price right now.. could add a prime cinema lens.. I'll look into those while you look at item
now when you said 35 mm
that is the actual mm desired, knowing that crop sensors multiply by 1.5 (non canon) or 1.6 (canon) for effective lens length
so you wanted a 35 mm which would be an effective 55mm slightly wide lens? or were you looking to go wide angel?
I really don't know what I don''t know. Our film student intern said 35 mm when I asked about a cinema lens. What does "open box" mean?
Daniel H.
a 35 mm on a crop sensor body would be a very versatile lens. If you were to buy one I would recommend a wide f stop range as the kit lens have a f 4 to 5.6.. one thing to be careful of when you buy your lenses is to buy a lens for video that has a constant apeture
that kit lens is good start for photos.. but you would find the light coming into lens would shift as you changed zoom.. not good for video
a $600 Canon efg 35 with f/2 or the sigma 35mm art f 1.4
Rokinon was a suggested lens too.

Rokinon makes a great cinema lens.. and a good value for the money.. let me show you the Rokinon 35.. do'nt own any myself yet but planning on buying a set of primes in the next few months myself..
