Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at Nikon lenses?
Did you have questions about any in particular?
Or need some help finding one?
Hi. I'm interested in a macro lens for my Nikon d7000 that is affordable. I'm a complete novice
Courtney B
Ok!
Sounds good!
Did you have a budget in mind for the lens?
$400. I know that's not much
Courtney B
Not a problem!
Let me bring up some options :-)
Ok
Courtney B
The Nikon 40mm f/2.8G is one really great option
It's extremely sharp and gives you a true 1:1 magnification ratio
The other lens that I would recommend is the Tokina 100mm f/2.8
Will it get close to bugs and flowers
Courtney B
I prefer the Tokina mainly because of the longer focal length. The further back that you can stand from your subject, the less light that you'll block
Yes, both of these will get you really close to bugs and flowers :-)
Does it compare well to the Nikon 100 or Sigma 105? But less money?
Courtney B
It does!
Thanks!

You're welcome!
