Hello! I see you are looking at some zoom lenses for a Nikon. What kind of photography do you plan to use them for?
I see you were looking at a 28-300mm in particular? Do you have any questions on that lens that I may be able to help you with?
I want an all in one full frame lens I can use when I travel so I do not have to take multiple lens
Daniel H.
I see. I certainly understand not wanting to take along many lenses. What kind of pictures do you plan to take? I'd also like to know what model camera you have -- that way I can get a better overall picture of your situation.
I have a Nikon D610. I am going to Europe on a tour of several countires. I like landscapes.
Daniel H.
That is wonderful! I have been to Europe a few times and am going there this fall myself.
That is a great full frame camera too. Okay.. so you primarily are going to be shooting landscapes.
Wide panoramic views or wanting to get a shot of sheep on a hillside?
Its a Viking river cruise so shots from the boat and when visiting cities walking shots of buildings and people
Daniel H.
I see -- indeed a versitile zoom would benefit you the most.
Do you plan to use a tripod or monopod often?
no
Daniel H.
okay -- the big thing about zooms , even if they have shaking reduction is using them at high mm settings for longer time shots.. shakiness
Did you have a particular budget in mind?
And are you looking at Nikon lenses or would you consider Sigma, Tamron, or other compatable lenses?
I have three lens now, 70-200,24-70 each full frame and 18-200 DX lens. I want an all around lens for the D610 camera. I always heard that Nikon glass is the best
Daniel H.
ahh yes and the crop sensor lens will give you vignetting on the corners.. :/
Sigma is up and coming for sure but Nikon certainly sets a high standard for most lens focal length!
Seeing that you have a good variety but now want a FX all arounder.. a 28-300 may be the best bet
I would think of it as a replacement for the DX lens..
Im not sure if you have a crop sensor camera still but Adorama even buys used lenses if you are interested?
Anyway.. here is a lens I think that would be ideal.
I believe it is one you looked at beforre we chatted.
whopse
that isn't the right price though
