Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at lenses?
Did you have questions about any in particular today? Or need some help finding the right one?
I just bought a Sigma 18-300 for my Nikon. I LOVE it. Wondering if there's anything even better.
Courtney B
Ok!
In terms of lenses that have that much range, the Sigma is definitely at the top of that list
Okay. Thank you.
Courtney B
The Nikon 28-300mm is another good option, but doesn't go quite as wide
And mine cost just under $500.
Courtney B
Yes, this one is certainly more expensive!
Oh, going to Alaska. Any lens beyond the uv I have that would help shoot glaciers?
Courtney B
Did you mean filters?
Yep. I'm total amateur.
Courtney B
No problem at all! :-) We all start somewhere! A polarizing filter would be nice!
That would bring out the colors a little more!
Ahah. That was the one I was wondering about. How much?
Courtney B
Let me see what we have
I think you need a 72mm filter?
Is it for the 18-300mm lens?
Yes. Guy told me it was 70 something. Normally by from you. Walked into Normans in Kalamazoo for lens cap and walked out with $500 lens.
Courtney B
Ha! :-)
I can bring up some suggestions. I just verified that it's indeed a 72mm lens
Sell me something.
Courtney B
Ok! :-)
This would be an excellent one!
Wow. Are decent ones all that much?
Courtney B
Yes, they are going to be a bit pricey
Some go up to $100+
Will it help with glacier photography?
Courtney B
This one is cheaper if you just want to try something out without investing a lot
I don't want to try it out. Going June 2017. But snow gets washed out and I've spent $100+ on photography books. They don't make sense. I just like to capture moment.
Courtney B
Absolutely understandable!
In the world of filters, $38 isn't terribly much (unfortunately). it gives you a good quality filter, but not the best either. I'd recommend going for that one if it's possible
Are you located close to Times Square?
Courtney B
Sort of!
We're at 42 W 18th St
I can order it now or if close I'll be at Crowne Plaza 9/12.
Courtney B
Ok! If you'd like to order it online, you can do that
Let's order it. If it help with glaciers. Will white still be white?
Courtney B
White will still be white, but your skies will be more vibrant and it will help with any glare that you might get from all of that bright white!
okay do it.
Courtney B
Ok! You can proceed with the order on Adorama's website. Were you able to add the filter to your cart successfully?
The $38 or $8.99
Courtney B
I would go $38 if possible. And not just because I want to sell you something more expensive.
It's truly a better quality filter
I don't make commission, so it doesn't matter to me how much you spend :-) But the results will be superior with the $38 filter
looking for it
Courtney B
Ok!
Here it is
