What third party branded alternatives are there to the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens?

Hi there! How are you? I'm James. Do you have any questions about cameras? Or how about questions pertaining to lenses? How can I help you today?
I have a question about lenses
James S.
Okay
What is your question?
I'm looking at a 24-70mm 2.8, canon is way too expensive!!!! so i'm looking at the sigma or tamron. are any of those good?
James S.
Hold on.
Here's our Sigma.
It's even f/2.8! So I'd say that's a good lens. :-).
is it better than the tamron, that one is more expensive?
James S.
I wouldn't say it's better than the Tamron, then again, the Tamron is another $550 on top of the Sigma.
I would be using for weddings, so i don't want to give up the image quality of canon, if you know what I mean :-)
James S.
Haha, I understand completely.
The Canon lenses aren't all that much more expensive than the Sigma, but the aperture is a big difference.
I would be ok with paying the $1300 for Tamron if it means better quality than Sigma, $1700 is just too much lol
James S.
Oh yeah, you'd definitely be getting the better quality going with the Tamron than the Sigma.
So I guess you do get what you pay for lol
James S.
Unfortunately there's no shortcuts when it comes to camera gear.
How much is your Tamron?
James S.
My wallet wishes there were! haha
Ok I think I'm going to close my eyes and just do it lol ;-) Thank you for your help, I appreciate it!!
James S.
Hahaha. In the long run it will be worth it. Did you have any other questions at this time? :-)
Nope not at this time, wait dumb question it will fit my 5D II
James S.
Hahaha. Yes.
ok thats it for me then. Thank you :-)
James S.
Alright! Enjoy. And thank you!
