Well, there's a huge downfall for using one hood for both lenses

If you get a hood for telephoto lenses, it's a longer tube shaped hood. If you use it on the 18-55mm lens, which is wide angle, you're going to see the hood in the corners of your images

And if you get a wide angle hood, it's not going to block light efficiently for the telephoto 75-300mm lens

This is the Canon brand hood for the 18-55mm lens. It's basically the exact same as the ProOptic brand one, but it says Canon on it ;-)
