Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G?
Did you have some questions about this lens tonight?
How prime is this lens? I have the Nikon 85mm, 254 to 70 and 70 to 200 2.8 lenses. How does his lens compare in quality?
Any lens that is a fixed focal length is considered a prime lens. Prime just means that it's not a zoom lens
But the image quality of this lens is extremely nice!
It's very sharp and focuses well in low light situations
Does Nikon make a better quality 35mm lens? If so what is it.
The Nikon 35mm f/1.4G lens is their highest quality 35mm lens
Yes this would be faster at 1.8 however is it worth the money in difference of lens quality?
The lens itself is a lot more durable as well.
But the f/1.8 is a tremendous value if it fits better within your budget
I enjoy street photography would I be extremely pleased with the 1.8. I am not a professional just a extreme enthusist
Absolutely understandable! :-)
That's the reason why Nikon came out with so many different options! The f/1.8 is perfect for an enthusiast that wants a high quality lens without spending the money on a pro lens
So I promise that you're getting a high quality lens from the f/1.8 version
Would you be interested in a Sigma lens?
They make a 35mm f/1.4 ART lens that is excellent as well
And not too far from the price of the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G
I have a couple of Sigma lenses. Send me info.
Is the only difference between the 1.4 and 1.8 is speed or are their other diffencences?
The speed is one huge difference. But the f/1.4 lenses are also slightly sharper. And the lenses are also more durable
Do you have any other questions? Or is there anything else I can help you with? I'm happy to help if there is!
