Hi! Welcome to Adorama! How are you today? My name is Anne. How can I help you?
Hi! Are you shopping for a lens today?
Is there a big difference between nikon 50 f1.4 models?
Anne A.
are you comparing the D to the G lenses?
yes
Anne A.
what camera do you have?
d3s and 7100
Anne A.
ok
they will both work and autofocus on both of those cameras
the G lens is a bit sharper, but overall, they are very similar in performance
the D lens has an apeture ring on it and the G doesn't.
the D lens also won't autofocus on the entry level cameras but it will on both of your cameras
okay
Thank you
Anne A.
you're welcome!
also thinking about a micro lens
Anne A.
ok
do you have a focal length in mind?
either 105 or 200
Anne A.
The NIkon 105 is a very good lens, and if you want a compatible brand, the Tokina 100mm macro lens is very good too
thank you
Anne A.
you're welcome!
we do have the 200mm micro lens too
I'll probably stick to the 105mm
Anne A.
that is a very good lens!
curious, Is the 24-70mm VR worth replacing my none VR?
Anne A.
I haven't used the new lens yet, but I have heard reports of it not being quite as sharp as the older version
I probably wouldn't replace it unless you find that you need VR
agreed
Anne A.
the 24-70 is a very good lens :-)
agreed
and it's paid for
Anne A.
lol!! that's the best part!
thank you for help
Anne A.
