Hi! Welcome to Adorama! How are you today? My name is Anne. How can I help you?
Hi! Are you shopping for a lens today?
Just window shopping right now. I am a serious amateur photobug with a D7200. Saw some GREAT shots from a pro, asked him what he used. He told me the Rokinon 8mm fisheye. I had been considering the Tokina 11-17 fisheye. I currently have the Tokina 11-20 2.8, Nikon 35 1.8, Nikon 85 1.8, and Nikon 55-300. I am also thinking about stepping it up to a Nikon 70 200 2.8. You're from PGH, I am originally from Philly. Pls advise!
Anne A.
the rokinon 8mm is a great fisheye!
what will you be shooting? stills? or video?
Stills now. I am a video "virgin." Been shooting NIkon's film and digital for ten years.
Anne A.
ok
the lens you're looking at now is a cine lens for video
What do u advise for a APS-C sized sensor??
Anne A.
thisis the rokinon fisheye for still photos
this is the same lens with a built in hood.
THX! I've been a loyal Adorama customer for 5 yrs now. Whats the diff btw the two?? What's focus confirm chip??
Anne A.
it's a manual focus lens, but the focus confirm chip will show that little dot in the viewfinder when you have it in full focus
Gotcha. You've given me some great info. Thx.
Anne A.
the cine lenses are declicked, so you can change the aperture smoothly in video
they will both work on the still camera though
They're both manual, eh?
Anne A.
yes
Again, thank you.
Anne A.
you're welcome!
