Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at the Nikon 200-500mm lens?
Did you have some questions about this lens today?
Yes. Not sure which lens to look at. I have a Nikon D90 and D610. I've started shooting at sporting events including dog shows where I want to do action shots and need telephoto. What do you suggest?
Courtney B
Ok, great!
The Nikon 200-500mm lens would work excellently on both cameras!
It's a very popular lens for shooting these types of events
Only thing that concerns me is that the min. aperture is F/5.6...Anything faster?
Courtney B
There are, but you'd be stuck with either a prime lens, or a shorter zoom
I thought I'd recently seen something that was maybe a 2.8 (?) zoom...
Courtney B
Ok! Was it the 70-200mm f/2.8?
Maybe...
Courtney B
Ok!
Let me bring that one up
Wondering if there's anything like that with more telephoto capabilities.
Courtney B
This Sigma is the longest option available with an f/2.8 aperture
Don't think I want to go into a Sigma. Tried that one time, and found that the camera had to work harder to focus...
Courtney B
Ok. Then the longest zoom from Nikon with f/2.8 aperture would be the 70-200mm lens
Okay, I'll look at that. Thanks.
Courtney B
Ok! You're welcome!
I can bring it up for you
Okay
Courtney B
Here it is :-)
It's a fantastic lens!
