Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at the Sony a7R II?
Did you have some questions about this camera today?
yeah
Courtney B
Ok!
Great!
how about sony's 50mm f/1.4?
Courtney B
That's a fantastic lens!
is it available now?
Courtney B
Let me check
That lens is currently on preorder
You can find it here
If you place a preorder, you won't be charged until it ships
still thinking on what lenses to get...
Courtney B
Ok!
There are a lot of great ones to choose from!
28mm f/2 is one i would go with first.. maybe that 85mm f/1.4 some time later
Courtney B
Both are great options!
The 28mm is going to be great for everyday shooting!
or 50mm (nifty fifty) + 70-200mm f/2.8
Courtney B
Also a really good option!
>.<
Courtney B
Do you tend to need a wider angle though?
The second combo isn't going to let you shoot in tight spaces as well
mm... wide angle is nice... is manual lens easy to use? mostly in landscape... where i'll have time to focus and compose
rely on autofocus so far
Courtney B
Manual lenses aren't too terribly difficult
I've found that live view is really helpful in achieving focus compared to the viewfinder
sony shows u where in the frame are in focus... with highlights or something
but i haven't tried that before
Courtney B
Yes, that would also be very helpful!
is nifty fifty hard to take indoor group pics?
Courtney B
It is.
>.<
Courtney B
Unless you're in a huge room
theres a 25mm f/2 sony zeiss.. is that for FE or just apsc e mount?
Courtney B
Let me check!
That's a full frame lens
i think 28mm is a good compromise... good in low light... not too stretchy/distortion.. maybe
Courtney B
Absolutely!
I would agree with that
I do 95% of my shooting with a 35mm lens
on a full frame camera
cool
Courtney B
:-) It's a really versatile focal length
sony zeiss's 35mm... theres f/2.8 and f/1.4
1.4 is nice, but kinda costly and big
Courtney B
Yep
Agreed
i read 2.8 isn't as good in indoor/low light situations...
that particular lens
Courtney B
That's correct
kk, thx for all of your help
Courtney B
You're very welcome!
f/1.4 or f/1.8 are much better for indoor shooting
thx again
Courtney B
:-) You're very welcome!
Make sure to stop back in chat if you have any further questions, ok?
