Hello, welcome to Adorama how are you today? My name is Jeff, how can I assist you?
i'm looking for a camera
i'm a videographer
Jeff H.
What camera were you looking at?
the 70D
the canon
Jeff H.
Good choice
the reviews are good, i like the canons.
i have the vixias etc.
i've never tried out this one, tho.
i will need a camera mostly for video
do you a rode shotgun for that
Jeff H.
This one will do good video. Cannons are well known for their video capability
so i hear
what about sound?
Jeff H.
That depends, I actually use a wireless mic when I do DSLR video the type a Mike depends on your needs.
Sound is good but again that would be based on which microphone you were using
right now at work i use a sony, with two input jacks, so i use both a shotgun and a wireless.
Jeff H.
I do believe you can only use one microphone with this camera.
right.
but my understanding is that folks often record separately and then sync.
Jeff H.
That is correct
a shotgun would likely be more useful to me to start with.
Jeff H.
Would you like me to find one
what would you recommend?
Jeff H.
What price range do we have to work with on the microphone?
the sound will be broadcast on tv and streamed on the web. i do a lot of recording in the field.
Jeff H.
This would be a decent midrange priced microphone that would give good quality
This one even comes with the dead cat that would help kill the wind noise when out in the field
ok, i'll keep that one in mind.
what about a lens?
Jeff H.
This one comes with a 18 – 135 lens. That would be a good lens to get started with.
right.
