Hello! how are you? do you have a question for me?
I'm looking into getting some videography stuff to make it easier for me on the backend. I don't know hardly at all anything about videography equipment. I have a 5D Mark II camera and am about to get a 1DX canon.
I would like to start doing videography with it as well what do you suggest?
Eric T.
Good questions.
have you been using th 5d for videography?
yes but just hand held and then in adobe premier and after effects I stabalize it
Eric T.
Ok, and what sort of things do you need to record? if you dont mind me asking
I was planning on doing weddings and engagement videos
Eric T.
Im wondering why you feel the need to upgrade to the 1d, im thinking maybe some additional accessories might be better
the 5d takes pretty good video if you have a nice lens.
My camera is old and it's been all over in haiti and africa and ecuador. I feel like its time to invest in a camera that can give me more in low light.
Eric T.
ah ok
got it
and with it being used so much I feel its time to upgrade is all. I've been going the past year with the nices lenses and the camera and I feel like I need to move it as a backup camera
Eric T.
the 1d is a much better camera overall than the 5d especially for video.
I would reccomend staying with canon so you can keep using your lenses
Which is why I am planning to get the 1D and start video with it
Eric T.
so which is why I am here. what do you suggest for videography.
Eric T.
Yep thats what I am looking at.
But I need some extra support for videography with it
Eric T.
right
Well for wedding photography, you probably wont be able to use constant lighting, do you have a stablizer?
I don't have anything for videography
I was starting to look at a stabilizer
and then possibly getting a drone but thats eventually.
Eric T.
Something like this would be great
I may be able to find something a little less expensive if you need as well
Can you give me some more options?
that looks great though :-)
Eric T.
I like the shoulder mount of the other one, but this one is also great. by Dji the same company that sells the drones
why do you like the shoulder mount?
I literally know nothing and just got on to start researching it.
Eric T.
no problems
The first one has a shoulder rest
which is good for long shoots
and stabilizing movement right?
Eric T.
yes
can I easily adjust focus with the camera being on it?
Eric T.
Yeah, same as you would without the stablizer,
I was looking at glidecams?
Eric T.
the Body Pod?
those arent stablizers those are extra support straps
you could get that and a single-handle stablizer though
yeah the glidecam hd 4000
Eric T.
That would also work :-)
