Hi I am looking to buy the flashpoint streetlight 360 TTL for Canon
Anne A.
Hi! Welcome to Adorama! How are you today? My name is Anne. How can I help you?
Hi Veronika!
my question is, can it be synced with my wireless flash transmitter?
Anne A.
yes, but you'd have to use a receiver on it
the R2 receiver built in to the light is only compatible with the R2 transitter
I have two 600 ex RT flashes, would this work with it?
Anne A.
you would have to use the R2 transmitter and a receiver on one or both flash
ok so I could not sync it with any other flash?
Anne A.
you can, but you'll have to use a receiver on the streaklight that is compatible with the system you're using
which would be what?
I am looking to add 3rd flash just for additional bounce light for large tents events like weddings. What would be the best way to achieve this?
Anne A.
here is the transmitter http://www.adorama.com/fprrr2...
Ok so this transmitter would work with my canon flashes as well?
is this flash more powerful then the 600?
Anne A.
yes, if you use a receiver on them
this is more powerful
here is the receiver http://www.adorama.com/fprrr2...
so I would need the transmitter for my camera and 2 of those receivers for my 600 flashes?
Anne A.
yes
that would also control the streaklight too because it has a built in receiver for that system
ok what is the slave set?
Anne A.
that is a transmitter and receiver in a set.
if you buy the set, you do save a little
Ok, I see that it is connected with a wire, is there a wireless option?
Is it a radio transmitter? Do I have to have a line of sight?
Anne A.
that is a wireless transmitter
it's radio- it doesn't need line of sight
ok, my canon transmitter doesn't have wire connecting the camera and the transmitter
Anne A.
the transmiter will go right in the hotshoe
I see that, but it still has a wire
Anne A.
the receiver can be attached to a strobe with a sync cord
those don't have a hot shoe though
ok, so the transmitter doesn't have any wires?
Anne A.
no
sorry for all the questions, I am pretty new to using flashes :-)
Anne A.
no worries!
so if I get the flash, would you use it for bounce light only?
and all three flashes would sync together correct?
Anne A.
I use a streaklight, but I use it for my main light and then I use 2 speedlights for rim light or to light the background
yes. with the transmitter, 2 receivers, and the streaklight, all 2 will sync together
I don't have indoor studio so it would be to use for events only
Anne A.
they will all work together :-)
What kind of diffuser wold I use for that?
Anne A.
that depends on the effect you're going for
I honestly almost always bounce my light when I am indoors.
Anne A.
you can still bounce the light
so if I am doing that, I wouldn't need diffuser right?
Anne A.
you don't have to have a modifier
what kind of events?
weddings
Anne A.
oh!
for weddings, I like to put one light on 2 corners of the dance floor
and one flash on the camera
I like to use a grid on the lights for that
I am good with my 2 flashes when I ma in regular indoor, but when I am in large tents I feel I am not getting enough light
Anne A.
I like the grids because even when the light is in the photo, it's really not distracting, like a softbox would be. Plus it ligts up the floor nicely :-)
what's a grid? :-)
so you don't bounce the light at all?
Anne A.
sometimes, but for wedding receptions, I use grids.
so what's grid?
Anne A.
this is a nice one too
it keeps the light from spilling
so you shoot this directly to the dance floor?
Anne A.
I put the streaklight on one corner, and a speedlight on the opposite corner, both on light stands, about 7 feet high
wow, I guess I have to practice that :-)
so you definitely need the battery back with it correct? Just because of the power output?
Anne A.
you do need the battery pack.
there is no built in battery in the streaklight
ok, so I need the light, battery, two receivers and one transmitter
and grid :-)
Anne A.
yes
ok, I think I am good :-)
thank you so much for your patience
Anne A.
you're welcome!
Glad to help!
:-) there is so much more I got to learn :-)
Anne A.
there is so much with OCF!! But there are a lot of great tutorials out there too :-)
thank you!
Anne A.
you're welcome!
