Hi! How are you? I noticed that you were looking at lenses?
Did you have questions about any in particular today?
I have a sony a3000 camera and i am a dental resident who would like to use a macro lens for dental photos. Can you suggest something?
Courtney B
Sure!
Let me bring up your options
okay
Courtney B
One minute :-)
These are your options. The Sony lens is the only one that will focus automatically http://www.adorama.com/l/Lens...
do you think i really need a 100mm macro?
Courtney B
Well, the 100mm isn't going to get you any closer to the subject compared to a 50mm lens. But what it would allow you to do is stand a little further back
They both have the same 1:1 magnification ratio
okay. I just wanna make my gear light.
Courtney B
ok!
so i asked
Courtney B
Of course! :-)
the nanoha lens is cool but for that u need to be as close as 11mm to your subject. I am sure my patients will not like that :-)
Courtney B
Ha! I would agree
Venus Laowa 15mm f/4 Wide Angle 1:1 Macro Lens with Shift for Sony FE Mount
what is this
Courtney B
Since that's a wide angle, you're going to need to be super close as well
ah
are rokinon and samyang lenses okay?
Courtney B
They are
They're manual focus only, but they're really great quality
awesome
Courtney B
They're popular choices for photographers who want quality glass but don't mind the manual focus
and i assume i would require a ring flash
Courtney B
Yes, you would probably want a ring flash
Let me see which would work with these lenses
thanks
Courtney B
No problem!
This would be a fantastic choice, but I actually just noticed that it's on backorder at the moment
ring light? you sure i dont need a ring flash
?
Courtney B
It's the same thing
oh
okay
Courtney B
:-) Just different ways of saying it
i had a friend buy it and it did not provide enough light. so i assume if it is a light that gives out enough illumination. it should be ok
Courtney B
This one would work better for you
And it's in stock
anyway this is great help. thank you so much
thanks again
take care
Courtney B
You're welcome!
