Hi! Welcome to Adorama! How are you today? My name is Anne. Do you have questions about a camera? Or a lens? How can I help?
Just looking for a decent slave transmitter/receiver for my D750. Any suggestions?
Anne A.
what kind of lights do you use?
Just have one Nikon flash, the 5000. Would like to pick up one or two more at some time. If/when the price if right.
Pocket wizards will not allow me to view the video on your website.
Anne A.
you got the new sb-5000 flash?
Yes
Anne A.
that does have a built in receiver
I know but as I said I am looking at adding more speed lights and I am shopping.
Anne A.
ok
I like the Flashpoint R2 system myself
I am a beginner at this and probably over bought the sb-500-
As I understood it, if I have a dedicated transmitter and receiver I would not need to worry about line of sight with my sb-5000, right? I am wrong with that?
Anne A.
that is correct
the new flashpoint r2 system is very easy to use. it would work well for you
Simple then I hope :-)
Looking at them now.
Anne A.
they are very easy to use :-)
Is it dummy proof :-)
Anne A.
well, I use it :-) haha!
So wen you buy the slave set you get everything? Tranmitter and receiver? Maybe you could explain the difference.
Anne A.
when you buy the set, you get one transmitter and one receiver
but you can buy more receivers if you want to use more lights
The one you showed me for $79.95 is just one set.... one transmitter and one receiver?
Anne A.
yes
Do you want to recommend another speed light?
Anne A.
sure!
if you go with the r2 system, there is a flash with the receiver built in for that
I had been leaning toward the Yongnu systems. Saw great reviews. What do you think about those?
Anne A.
I have a yongnuo flash myself
It works very well!
the flashpoint is nice because it has the radio receiver built in
plus it has a rechargeable battery so you don't have to buy stock in AA's
Good points to consider.
Anne A.
If i was to buy one now, I"d go for the flashpoint
Checking it out now. Does it have i-TTL?
Anne A.
yes it does
Any package deals out there for two speed lights and 3 receivers and one transmitter?
Actually if I bought this speed light would I only need the radio transmitter and the speed lights have the radio receivers built in them? I am a little confused. Sorry
Anne A.
I can't do any custom package deals here in chat
you'd have to contact customer service for that
Customer Service email address: service@adorama.com.
Okay, back to my question about the speed lights having the radio frequency receivers built in.
Anne A.
ok
if you went with the one with the receiver built in, you only need the transmitter on the camera
How do I know which one has it built in?
Anne A.
the flashpoint has it built in
All of them?
Anne A.
all of the ones that say r2 in the description
I see some that say... with integrated R2 radio transceiver. The most costly one you showed me does not say that.
Anne A.
let me check
this one has the radio receiver built in but it uses AA batteries
this is the same light, but uses the rechargeable battery. it also has the receiver built in
Yes, but I was looking at the model above that one.
Anne A.
that one has the receiver built in
So if I went with Flashpoint would I just need to one receiver for my sb-5000?
Anne A.
yes
and one transmitter for on the camera
so you could get the set and still operate 3 lights that way
Okay, thank you.
Anne A.
you're welcome!
