ok, so you just need a wireless remote shutter right? as long as it's compatible with the camera, then it'll trigger this commander, since it would be attached to the camera. What camera do you have?
I have a 6D, and I've been using the yongnuo 602 remotes (one in the hotshoe) and then this commander on top of the shutter remote.

and did you want to replace that Yongnuo remote?
yes, I'd like to eliminate the hot shoe remote and just have the commander in my hotshoe. so the yongnuo remote should activate the shutter and commander without the hotshoe yongnuo remote?
