What do you think the best slider for on-the-road production is?
I was looking at sliders
Have you tried the Rhino
Daniel H.
Hello! I'm Dan. I see you have some questions on a slider. I would be happy to help!
I have had some peers who have a Rhino and they like it a lot. What kind of video work do you plan to use this for?
Reality style shooting, but for the b-roll portion of the show. Also nice "travel" type shots, scenics, etc
Do you have a slider in a similar price range that's rated better, or do you feel the Rhino is the best in its class
Daniel H.
thinking..
Okay (:

Another one to look at would be the Cinetics
they have a motorized slider as well
what length were you looking for?
24 should be plenty. Longer is hard to carry around
could go up to 30 though
Daniel H.
understand
I have a 48 inch one and found I had to use two tripods when using one at a height
ya, they're great but we want to avoid that type of setup
which cinetic
Daniel H.
that is 32 inches
I am not suggesting this is a better one than the evo
but an alternative to consider before you make a buying decision
Thank you
Daniel H.
do you believe a dolly will fit all your needs rather than a rail system (I know talk about complex)
We have a dolly and we never use it. Lol
It's hard to hike with
Daniel H.
that would be the case for sure!
did you have a budget range that you wanted to stay within?
Under 1200, ideally
Daniel H.
okay
Thank you for your help
Daniel H.
was going to point out another
not sure if you considered a 3 axis motor system.. a bit of a budget breaker.. but the shots it may give you for your production may be worth additional expense?
but welcome indeed on showing you a couple of different options
That's a good point
I'll take a closer look at these and go from there
thanks again
Daniel H.
they also have a 2 axis one
okay great!
were there any other questions I could assist with today?
No that's good
thank you
Daniel H.
okay -- have a great evening then!
you too
